The most productive period to visit Akdağ National Park is late spring and early summer, extending from mid-May to the end of July. The distance from Sandıklı to the park is approximately 40 km, and the last 10 kilometers are quite steep and winding.

Therefore, vehicles with high ground clearance or four-wheel drive should be preferred; especially in rainy weather, it can be difficult to pass this section with standard sedan cars. There are no regular public transport services from Sandıklı town center to the park; you can inquire about dolmuş (shared taxi) or taxi options in the town center. Car rental from Afyonkarahisar is also a very common option.

For those who only want to see the park and complete the basic hiking routes, a single day visit might be sufficient. However, to experience the true atmosphere of Akdağ, observe wild horses during quiet hours, and not miss the sunrise and sunset views, staying at least one night makes a big difference.

Spending the night in bungalow houses or at the tent camping areas and going for a nature walk early in the morning allows you to encounter the quiet and magical side of the park. Entry to the park is charged according to vehicle type; it is recommended to obtain information from official sources or the park entrance before your visit, as current tariffs may vary. Remember that the last 10 kilometers of the road are very steep; vehicles with low power or low ground clearance may encounter serious difficulties in this section.

Respecting wildlife is one of the most fundamental rules of the park; when approaching wild horses and deer, one should act quietly and calmly, and absolutely no feeding should occur.
