Kab Mosque (Hoca Ali Mosque)

City minibuses departing from Adıyaman bus station will drop you off at stops near the center; from there, you can reach the mosque with a short walk. It can also be easily reached by taxi or car rental options. If you are coming by car, parking spaces on the street may be limited, so it is recommended to park on nearby streets and walk.

Kab Mosque was built by Hoca Ali in 1768 and also gave its name to the neighborhood it is located in. The structure was built using finely cut stone; this feature distinguishes it from other historical structures in the region. Its most striking architectural element is its wooden dome plastered in the Baghdadi style, which is rarely seen in the region. There is a two-mihrab-like arrangement on the northern facade, and this detail reveals the unique architectural character of the structure. The mosque underwent extensive renovation by Hacı Ali in 1923. As it is known to have been damaged in the earthquakes of February 6, 2023, it is recommended to confirm its current status before visiting.

You can start from Ulu Mosque in the morning, proceed to Kab Mosque, and then visit Eskisaray Mosque and Yenipınar Mosque. In the afternoon, you can head to archaeological sites such as Perre Ancient City or Karakuş Tumulus, which are about an hour away from the city. It would be more efficient to save the Mount Nemrut visit for a separate day for sunset or sunrise.
