Çambaşı Plateau

The plateau experiences two different seasons. In summer, especially between June and September, many people from the coastal areas come here; the weather is cool, and the greenery is dense. In winter, the Çambaşı Ski Center comes into play, with pistes opening depending on snow conditions. For winter visits, it is necessary to check road and weather conditions in advance, as heavy snowfall can make transportation difficult.

From Ordu city center via Kabadüz, it takes approximately 55 kilometers by asphalt road, about 1 hour 30 minutes by car. The route is as follows: Ordu Center, Kabadüz, Çambaşı Plateau, Çambaşı Ski Center. Those arriving by intercity bus can get off at Ordu New Bus Terminal and continue by taxi, VIP transfer, or rental car; the distance is approximately 52 kilometers. For those arriving by plane, Ordu-Giresun Airport is the closest point; from there, the plateau is approximately 68 kilometers, 1 hour 30 minutes away. Those preferring public transport can use the 38 Nolu Kabadüz-Çambaşı Transporters Cooperative minibuses from Kabadüz district center, but schedules vary by season, so it's useful to get information in advance.

Those going just for the scenery and a picnic can return in half a day. For those who want to ski, stay in a bungalow house, or dedicate time to nature sports, a 1-2 night stay is more logical. The plateau has an infrastructure suitable for accommodation with its hotels, bungalow houses, and plateau houses.

Leaving Ordu in the morning and reaching the plateau via Kabadüz allows you to be on the plateau by noon. During the day, visiting the market, seeing the area where trout farms are located, and then taking a break at picnic areas is a classic program. Those visiting in winter can spend the day at the ski center and end the evening with a hot meal at the plateau restaurants.

There are two modern hotels on the plateau. In addition, bungalow houses and plateau houses are among the accommodation options. In the winter season, facilities close to the ski center are preferred, while in summer, plateau houses in quieter oba regions are popular.

Plateau restaurants serve meat dishes and classics of Black Sea cuisine. Thanks to the trout farming facilities in the region, fresh trout is also a common option. Having hot soup or a hot drink during ski breaks is like a tradition here.

In winter months, it is necessary to have snow tires or chains depending on road conditions. Weekends, especially during the ski season, can be busy; leaving early in the morning reduces traffic. Since the altitude is 1850 meters, it is important to dress according to cold weather conditions. Those going by public transport should confirm minibus schedules from Kabadüz in advance.
