Melik Gazi Tomb

Spring and autumn months are the most suitable periods for visiting, both in terms of weather conditions and the state of the village roads. Although the summer heat of Central Anatolia can be felt, visits between 08:00-10:00 in the morning are much more comfortable. In winter, due to rain and fog, village roads may be difficult, so it is advisable to check the weather forecast before coming during this season.

There is approximately 41 kilometers distance from Eskişehir city center to Seyitgazi district. After reaching Seyitgazi, you need to proceed about 3 more kilometers in the direction of Doğançayır village. The tomb is located just outside the village in the area known as Melik Gazi Farm. Since public transportation to the region is quite limited, it is recommended to use a private car or a rental car. 30 to 60 minutes is sufficient for the tomb itself. If you are coming to the region, it is recommended to visit other historical structures in Seyitgazi district on the same day, especially the Seyyit Battal Gazi Complex. Planning a half-day or full-day Seyitgazi tour in this way will allow you to use both time and distance efficiently.

Starting from Eskişehir, you can first stop at Seyitgazi district center and visit the Seyyit Battal Gazi Complex. After exploring the complex, which is a comprehensive group of structures consisting of a mosque, fountain, dervish lodge, almshouse, guesthouse, and madrasah, you can proceed towards Doğançayır village to the Melik Gazi Tomb. On the way back, stopping at Seyitgazi's small artisan shops and tea gardens can be a nice option to complete the day.

Angles where the old cemetery stones around the tomb and the village texture are seen together are very suitable for taking documentary-quality photos. The facade of the structure and the natural landscape in its immediate vicinity offer striking shots, especially with the greenery of spring. The golden light before sunset accentuates the texture of the stone surfaces, adding depth to the photographs.

Since the tomb is located far from the city center and on village roads, it is recommended to meet your fuel and water needs in advance. There is no dense commercial area or facility nearby. Melik Gazi Tomb is a symbolic tomb attributed to the son of Danişmend Gazi and is considered within the scope of faith tourism.
