Marmaris Çiftlik Bay

The most suitable period to visit Çiftlik Bay is the summer season, extending from early May to late October. Early June and September are the calmest and most comfortable times for the bay; the sea water is warm enough for swimming, and the July-August crowds have not yet started or have passed. In July and August, the bay becomes relatively crowded; especially during the blue cruise season, the number of anchored boats increases significantly. Although it is possible to reach the bay in winter, keep in mind that the restaurant and accommodation facilities may be closed.

Going by car from Marmaris center is the most practical option. Enter the Bozburun road via İçmeler, and after about 30 km, you will reach Bayırköy (Bayır). From here, continue towards Söğüt, and after about 1 km, you will see the Çiftlik turn-off. Part of the road is narrow and winding; special care should be taken with large vehicles. Minibuses (dolmuş) going from Marmaris towards Bozburun use this route; however, since there may not be a specific stop for Çiftlik Bay, you may need to get off at the turn-off and walk. For those wishing to come by sea, the bay is regularly included in blue cruise routes departing from Marmaris.

Çiftlik Bay is a very fertile place for photography due to its turquoise-green sea color and the silhouette of pine forests hanging over the bay. The high point at the entrance of the bay is ideal for wide-angle shots framing the beach and the sea. In the morning, the light is soft and boat traffic has not yet started, so photos taken at those times offer a much cleaner background. Perspectives looking at the sea from within the pine forest also create interesting compositions.

There is only one restaurant at the beach entrance in the bay. Keep in mind that this restaurant operates seasonally, and the menu and prices may vary from period to period. Since the variety of options is limited, it is advisable to bring snacks, fruit, and sufficient water with you. For more comprehensive dining options, Bayırköy or Marmaris center can be preferred.

There is a small hotel at the beach entrance in Çiftlik Bay. Accommodation options are kept very limited to preserve the calm nature of the bay; this makes it attractive for those seeking a quiet experience, different from a crowded resort holiday. For more accommodation options, Marmaris center, İçmeler, or Selimiye can be considered.

Part of the road to the bay is narrow and winding; it may be more comfortable to go with high-clearance or small vehicles. There are no ATMs or markets in the bay; you need to prepare your cash and necessities in advance. Lighting fires in areas within the pine forest is strictly prohibited. To preserve the natural structure of the bay, take your trash with you. During the blue cruise season (July-August), boat traffic may increase, so arriving at the bay early in the morning provides a much better beach experience.

Çiftlik Bay is perfect for a day trip from Marmaris or surrounding areas. It is easily possible to leave in the morning and return in the afternoon. Since there are also accommodation facilities in the bay itself, a one-night stay can be preferred for a much calmer experience. As there are nearby bays such as Orhaniye, Selimiye, and Söğüt in the region, it is possible to create a 2-3 day Bozburun Peninsula route combining these points.

You can combine Çiftlik Bay with other hidden spots on the Bozburun Peninsula. Following the route from Marmaris: İçmeler → Orhaniye → Kız Kumu → Çiftlik Bay → Selimiye → Söğüt → Bozburun allows you to see the most beautiful bays and villages of the peninsula in a single tour. It is recommended to allocate at least 2 full days for this route by car; if you are going by boat, blue cruise tours organized from Marmaris cover most of these bays.
