İncekum Beach

The best time to visit İncekum Beach is between late May and September. During these months, the sea water is warm enough for swimming, and the air temperature is far from stifling. Early June and mid-September are periods when the cove is relatively less crowded, thus more peaceful. In July and August, the beach can attract more visitors than its capacity; if you plan to come during this period, it is recommended to settle in before noon. By October, the weather starts to cool, and facilities may close.

To reach İncekum Beach, you first need to go to Çamlı Village. The distance from Muğla city center is approximately 50 km, taking about 50 minutes by car. It is about 25 km from the Akyaka (Gökova) region. Those arriving by car can park in the designated parking area in the village and walk down to the beach. For those departing from Marmaris city center, a dolmuş (minibus) option is also available; you can learn about current schedules at the Marmaris bus terminal or from local transportation units.

İncekum is a cove beach designed for day trips. You can swim and explore the surroundings during a half-day visit; there is also enough space for those who want to stay a full day. Boat tours to Sedir Island (Cleopatra Island) are organized near the beach; if you add this tour to your program, a full day will easily be filled.

The most prominent photo opportunity at İncekum is the angles where the pine forest and the turquoise sea behind the cove are seen together. The silhouette of Sedir Island becomes prominent in the background, especially in the afternoon as the sun shifts westward, adding strong depth to the frame. Wide-angle photos taken from the rocks on both sides of the cove are also preferred spots to capture the entire beach.

There are small-scale businesses around the beach; however, due to the small size of the cove, the number of options is limited. If you plan to stay for a long time, it would be practical to bring drinks and light snacks with you. For a more comprehensive dining experience, you can go to nearby Akyaka or Marmaris city center; both locations have many fish restaurants serving Aegean cuisine.

İncekum is a small and sheltered cove; this feature is both its greatest attraction and its most significant limitation. The cove can receive more visitors than its capacity during high season. An entrance fee per person is charged at the beach; it is recommended to have cash with you. Paths through the pine forest and coastal rocks may contain points requiring attention for families with children. It is important to adhere to environmental rules to avoid harming marine life and coastal flora.

İncekum Beach, due to its geographical location, is extremely suitable for visiting together with Sedir Island (Cleopatra Island). Sedir Island attracts separate interest due to its ancient ruins and special sand; boat tours to the island depart from Çamlı Village pier. If you swim at İncekum and also add a Sedir Island tour to your program, you can spend the day very efficiently.
