Meerschaum Museum

Meerschaum is a rare stone composed of magnesium silicate mineral, extracted with its white quality only in the Eskişehir region worldwide. Thanks to its lightness and ease of processing, it has been used for centuries in making pipes, sculptures, and jewelry. The museum was opened in 2008 within the courtyard of the Kurşunlu Complex to both document and promote this tradition.

The venue operates as a museum-shop hybrid. Raw meerschaum samples and processed artifacts are displayed in showcases, while products made by artisans are offered for sale on the opposite side. When considered together with the Handicrafts Bazaar in the complex courtyard, the entire area takes on the appearance of an integrated center striving to keep Eskişehir's traditional craft alive.

The museum is closed on Mondays and open from 09:00 to 17:00 on other days.
