According to historical records, the mosque has three separate waqf deeds dated 1520, 1530, and 1574. The 1530 deed lists the villages of Tavruk and Kratoya, affiliated with Keşan, as among the mosque's waqf revenues, while the 1573-1574 deed adds Depeli Village to these. A section of the structure sits on the remains of Sitti Hatun's palace, which stood until 1743.
The mosque underwent renovations in the 1980s and 1990s. Today, as it is a place of worship open to the public, no prior appointment is required for individual or small group visits. Only in cases where large student groups wish to enter simultaneously might this pose an issue.
