For skiing and winter sports, the period from mid-December to the end of March is the most suitable time. The slopes operate at full capacity in January and February, when the snow cover on Akdağ is thickest. Since snow may be insufficient in the first half of December, it is a good idea to inquire about slope conditions before setting off.

In summer, the center closes for skiing activities; however, Ladik Lake, the surrounding plateaus, and hiking trails welcome visitors from May to September. Autumn is also a beautiful time to see the colorful Akdağ forests.

There is approximately a 75 km road from Samsun city center to Ladik district. After reaching Ladik district center, you need to travel another 7 km to the ski center. Using a private car is the most comfortable option; signs along the way indicate the route.

The distance from Samsun Airport to the center is approximately 100 km. You can also reach by renting a car from the airport or by joining organized ski tours from Samsun city center. Some private tour companies departing from Samsun organize daily ski tours with morning departures and evening returns.

The most famous delicacy of the Ladik region is pike fish. Eating fresh lake fish at restaurants on the shore of Ladik Lake offers a unique tasting opportunity specific to the region. Mavi Göl Restaurant is often among the prominent names in this regard.

There are facilities to eat at and around the ski center; options may be limited outside the season. There are also local restaurants in Ladik district center.

If you are coming solely for skiing, 1-2 days are sufficient. If Ladik Lake, thermal springs, and surrounding plateaus are also added to the program, a fuller trip of 2-3 days emerges.

It can also be planned as a day trip from Samsun city center; it is perfectly possible to leave in the morning and return in the evening.

You can depart from Samsun and reach Akdağ by taking a breakfast break at Çakallı Menemencisi along the way; this route is also preferred by companies organizing tours in the region. After having lunch at the facility in the ski center, eating pike fish by Ladik Lake on the way back makes for a nice conclusion.

If you are staying for more than one day, you can also add thermal facilities to your visit list; Ladik thermal springs are one of the recognized assets of the region.

In winter, snow and ice conditions can occur on the Akdağ road. Winter tires are mandatory for your vehicle; there may be periods when it is impossible to go without chains. Always check the weather and road conditions before setting off.

You will be asked to leave an ID when renting equipment. Be careful with your valuables; it is safer to use locker facilities on crowded days. Since chairlift and slope fees may vary by season, confirm current prices in advance.

The snow-covered slopes of Akdağ and the chairlift route offer impressive shots on clear days. The view of the valley from the high points at the top of the slopes is also a popular shooting angle.

In summer, the shore of Ladik Lake, with the morning mist and water reflections, provides an attractive environment for photography.
