Yaşar Doğu Museum House

The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday; it is closed on Mondays. Since the doors close for lunch (12:00–13:00), you need to go between 08:00–12:00 or 13:00–17:00. As Kavak district has a Black Sea climate, spring and early autumn offer a more comfortable option for both the museum and surrounding tours.

Yaşar Doğu was born in Kavak in 1913 and became one of the most important figures introduced to the world by Turkish wrestling. He won many international accolades, including an Olympic gold medal and a world championship. In addition to his wrestling career, he also left his mark in coaching and sports management. His birthplace was converted into a museum to preserve his legacy.
