Akpınar Education Museum

Akpınar Education Museum is located in Akpınar village, Ladik district of Samsun, in the garden of the school that was founded as a village institute in 1940 and continues its activities today under the name Akpınar Science High School. The museum presents materials documenting the functioning of village institutes, the teaching tools and equipment used during that period, and Turkey's early Republican era educational philosophy.

Beyond the exhibited objects, the campus itself has largely preserved its natural structure, allowing visitors to directly experience the atmosphere of the period. This place, also registered as Ladik Education Museum on the Culture Portal, holds a unique position among museums in Samsun.

Since the museum is part of an active high school, planning visits during school terms (September-June) is much more practical. The distance from Samsun city center to Ladik is approximately 80-90 kilometers. There are regular bus services from Samsun to Ladik; after Ladik, a minibus or private car should be preferred for transportation to the village.

Considering the natural environment and historical atmosphere of the Akpınar campus, this period may extend a little for those who want to explore the surroundings slowly. When planned together with Ladik district, it is possible to create a half-day trip program.

If you are departing from Samsun, you can also add Ladik district center to your itinerary. Ladik is a small but historically rich district connected to Samsun province. You can combine your visit to Akpınar Education Museum with other cultural points in Ladik to create a day trip. It is a logical plan to visit the museum in the morning and explore Ladik in the afternoon.

Since the museum is located within a state school, visits without an appointment may not be possible.
