Kızılada

The most suitable period to visit Kızılada is between May and October. In mid-summer, especially in July and August, boat traffic reaches its peak; multiple boats anchoring at the same time increases both noise and crowds. If you want a calmer experience, choose late May or the September-October period; the sea water will still be warm enough for swimming, and the island will almost be exclusively yours. Considering that some visitors observe waste in the sea in the morning, planning to arrive in the afternoon might offer a better experience.

The island can only be reached by sea. Daily boat tours departing from Fethiye pier offer Kızılada as one of the stops on their route. These tours are usually full-day programs covering multiple coves and islands. For those who wish to rent a private boat, various options are available in Fethiye and Ölüdeniz. The nearest airport to Fethiye is Dalaman Airport; from there, it's about a 45-50 minute drive to Fethiye.

The most captivating photographic subject of Kızılada is undoubtedly its clear water; this view, where the bottom stones are clearly visible when looking from the boat, combined with the blue-green water color, creates impressive shots. It is recommended to bring snacks, fruit, and plenty of water with you. For a satisfying seafood meal, you will need to return to Fethiye center; the fish restaurants lined along the pier are known for their fresh produce.

Instead of planning Kızılada as a standalone destination, it is much more efficient to consider it as part of Fethiye's classic boat route. A typical daily tour can be arranged to include several coves in Fethiye bay, Şövalye Island, and Kızılada. If you have a few days in the region, routes combined with Ölüdeniz and Butterfly Valley are also quite popular. You can spend at least 1-1.5 hours in Kızılada, allowing time for both swimming and island exploration.

Kızılada is a small, uninhabited island with no construction on it. The island's inhabitants are wild rabbits, goats, and mice.
