Haydar Cove

The most suitable period to visit Haydar Cove is from early May to late October. Early June and September stand out as the sea water is warm enough and the crowds are relatively smaller. In July and August, the number of visitors from surrounding sites and Akbük significantly increases. In winter, the cove becomes deserted and the access road can become difficult.

The most practical way to reach the cove is by private car. From Milas or Akbük, drive to Bozbük village, then follow approximately 1 kilometer of dirt road to reach the cove. The distance to Akbük is around 15 kilometers. Although the dirt road is short, it is much more comfortable to go with vehicles with high ground clearance.

Public transport options are quite limited; although there are minibus connections from Milas or Akbük, a separate vehicle is needed to traverse the dirt road after Bozbük. For those arriving by boat, the cove has a structure suitable for direct anchoring.

Haydar Cove is a fruitful stop for photography enthusiasts thanks to its clear and changing waters. The rocky edges of the cove offer ideal spots to frame the water from above. The turquoise-green color transitions created by the morning sun falling into the cove are particularly striking. The small sandy section in the middle of the cove is suitable for closer shots. If you come by boat, shots taken over the shallow waters near the shore also yield very impressive results.

There are no food and drink establishments in Haydar Cove itself. Therefore, you need to prepare your picnic supplies and drinking water in advance. The closest options are located in Bozbük village and Akbük. Akbük is the nearest settlement where you can meet daily needs with its fish restaurants and cafe options. It is recommended to shop from Akbük or Milas before going to the cove.

Haydar Cove is perfect for a day trip. You can swim and experience the atmosphere of the cove in half a day; if you stay for a full day, there is enough time to explore the rocky sections, snorkel, and have a picnic. Those who wish to stay here for more than one day usually prefer accommodation in Akbük or Bozbük and commute to the cove daily.

Infrastructure in the cove is extremely limited; although showers and toilets are available, one should not expect extensive facilities. Food, drinks, and drinking water must be brought with you. The dirt road can become muddy in rainy weather; check the weather forecast in advance. Since most of the cove is rocky, bringing sea shoes is important for both comfort and safety. You can contribute to the preservation of the cove's pristine nature by taking your trash back with you.

Haydar Cove is located within the borders of Bozbük Neighborhood, Milas district, Muğla province, between Akbük Bay and Kazıklı Bay. The cove, which has no residential areas around it, largely preserves its natural structure. Entry is completely free. Accessible both by land and sea, the cove is also a popular stop for boat tours. Due to its proximity to the Akbük region of Didim district in Aydın, it attracts visitors from both provinces.
