Tersane Island

The most suitable period for Tersane Island is between May and October. In July and August, boat traffic in Göcek Bay intensifies; if you prefer a more secluded environment, choose the period between May–June or September–October. During these periods, the sea water is suitable for swimming, and the coves are much calmer. In winter, boat services largely cease, effectively closing the island to visitors.

Since the island has no land connection, it can only be reached by boat. Daily tour boats departing from Göcek marina include Tersane Island in their itineraries. You can also go by renting a private boat or gulet. Göcek is reached by road via the Muğla–Dalaman route. The nearest airport is Dalaman Airport; from there, Göcek is approximately 15 km away.

Tersane Island is usually visited as part of multi-stop daily boat tours in Göcek Bay. A stay of 2-4 hours on the island is sufficient for most visitors: swimming, exploring historical ruins, and dining at the restaurant comfortably fit into this time. If you wish to spend the night with your boat, the sheltered cove is quite suitable for this.

Among the most striking photo spots on Tersane Island, the Ottoman slipway ruins stand out; the historical stone structures and the surrounding lush vegetation create a powerful composition. The clear turquoise water around the pier provides a good backdrop for both drone and underwater photography. The view overlooking the open sea when you cross to the back shore of the island is also noteworthy. In the morning hours, the light is soft and boat traffic is low; these hours are advantageous for photography.

The only restaurant in the cove stands out on the island. Visitors say they ate kid goat tandoor and fresh fish here, and that these dishes, served with appetizers, are quite delicious. It is also stated that free mooring is provided for those dining at the restaurant; however, there are also comments about price differences when paying by card, so it's good to ask about this in advance. Since there are no other food and beverage points outside the island, do not forget to take snacks on your boat.

There are no markets, pharmacies, or any infrastructure facilities on the island; make sure you have enough drinking water and sunscreen with you. When mooring your boat at the pier or stern-to-shore, pay attention to other boats in the cove. Clarify pricing in advance when paying by card. To preserve the natural texture of the island, take your trash back to your boat.

You can include Tersane Island in a classic daily tour route departing from Göcek. Depart from Göcek marina and first visit Tersane Island for swimming and exploring historical ruins, then have lunch at the restaurant. In the afternoon, you can complete the day by moving to other coves and islands in the bay. If you are departing from Fethiye, Tersane Island is also visited as part of the 12 Islands tour.
