Domuz Island

Domuz Island, located in Fethiye Bay, part of Muğla province, takes its name from the wild boars that once lived here. Also known as Prince's Island, the island earned this second name because its last owner was a prince, and today it is the private property of the Simavi family. With its structure covered with pine and olive trees, occasional historical ruins, and numerous sheltered coves around it, it has become one of the most frequented stops for boat tours departing from Göcek.

The island's wind-protected harbor is very suitable for boats to anchor. The clear turquoise waters of the coves offer a good environment for swimming and snorkeling; visitors particularly emphasize the cleanliness of the water and the untouched nature.

The most suitable period to visit Domuz Island is the sea season, which extends from May to October. Boat tours intensify in July and August; if you want to experience a calmer environment on the island, late May to early June or September–October might be a better choice. There are no markets, cafes, or facilities on the island; you need to bring your own food, drinks, sunscreen, and sun loungers from the boat or Göcek. Don't forget to bring life jackets and swimming equipment when going into the sea.

There are no food and drink facilities on Domuz Island itself. Most boat tours offer lunch in another cove or directly on the boat. After returning to Göcek, restaurants around the marina offer fresh seafood and classics of Aegean cuisine. Göcek is a popular destination for both local and international yacht owners, so dining options are quite diverse.
