Menzelet Dam Lake Recreation Area

Menzelet Recreation Area can be visited all year round; the most enjoyable period is spring, extending from April to June. During these months, the weather is perfect for a picnic, and the surroundings are at their greenest. Although temperatures rise in July and August, the cooling effect of the dam lake continues to make the area attractive.

On weekends and public holidays, especially during Bayram periods, the area starts filling up from 9 AM. Visitor comments frequently mention difficulty finding a spot even at this hour on Sundays. If you want a peaceful picnic, prefer weekdays or set off very early on weekends.

The recreation area is located approximately 20-29 km from Kahramanmaraş city center, in Sarıçukur Neighborhood of Onikişubat district. Coming by private car is the most practical way; you can proceed from the city center towards Onikişubat and follow the direction to Sarıçukur.
