The most suitable period to visit Çandarlı is between late May and early October. June and September offer a golden mean in terms of both sea temperature and crowds; beaches are not overflowing, and prices remain more reasonable. In July and August, the town becomes livelier, and finding accommodation can be difficult. In winter months, Çandarlı becomes almost deserted; while it offers a different experience for those who want to take a quiet walk around the castle during this period, many businesses are closed.

By private car: Çandarlı can be reached from Izmir city center with approximately a 1.5-hour journey. The Aegean scenery accompanies you along the way.

By public transport: There are regular bus services from Izmir Bus Terminal to Dikili. From Dikili, it is possible to reach Çandarlı by minibus or dolmuş. It is necessary to confirm current service times from the terminal or local transport companies.

Since Çandarlı is a small peninsula, walking or cycling around is the most practical option.

Çandarlı Castle offers an extraordinary photo opportunity, especially before sunset, known as the golden hour. The sea-facing facade of the castle, combined with the blue water behind it, creates a ready-to-frame composition. The view of the castle from the public beach produces one of the most shared shots of the town. When looking at the surrounding islands from the tip of the peninsula, the atmosphere created by the fog and light in the morning hours is a separate source of inspiration for photographers. A small pier where fishing boats are lined up along the coast also offers an interesting detail.

At the heart of the dining experience in Çandarlı are fresh seafood products. Along the coast, small fish restaurants and eateries offer appetizers made from daily caught fish, grilled fish, and seafood. For breakfast, coastal cafes and buffets can be preferred. These venues, offering a more affordable and intimate dining experience compared to the tourist restaurants of big cities, frequently feature olive oil appetizers and Aegean-specific herbal dishes on their menus.

Çandarlı is a town dominated not by large chain hotels but by small family pensions and boutique holiday homes. Pensions and apart-hotels near the beach are the most common accommodation options. Since occupancy rates are high during the summer season, especially in July-August, it is recommended to make reservations in advance. Dikili center is also an alternative accommodation option and is a short distance from Çandarlı.

Since Çandarlı is a small town, do not expect large shopping centers or chain supermarkets; local grocery stores and small shops are sufficient for basic needs. If you are coming by car in the summer months, finding parking can be difficult, so moving early will make your job easier. Although there are free changing cabins and toilets on the beach, it can be crowded during peak periods. Since the ground around the castle can be uneven, comfortable shoes should be preferred. Çandarlı's ATM and bank infrastructure is limited; it is recommended to carry cash with you.

Arrive in Çandarlı early in the morning and first swim at the public beach. Before noon, visit Çandarlı Castle just behind the beach; don't forget to take photos around the castle. For lunch, choose one of the fish restaurants on the coast. In the afternoon, take a walk around the peninsula and admire the views of the surrounding islands and coves. After watching the castle silhouette at sunset, you can complete the day by sitting at one of the coastal cafes.
