Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar Literature Museum Library

The history of Alay Köşkü dates back to the Ottoman period. This structure, from which sultans watched parades from the walls of Topkapı Palace, served different functions for centuries. Converted into a literature museum and library in 2011 through the initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the building today opens its doors to both researchers and curious visitors.

Photography is prohibited inside the museum; this rule is strictly adhered to. You need to register your name at the entrance, so keep your ID with you. Some visitors state that the museum takes in too much outside noise and does not offer a completely silent reading environment.
