In the niches on the ramp's walls, different layers of Troy are explained with tombstones, sculptures, and photographs.
One of the most striking pieces in the museum is the Sarcophagus of Polyxena: the oldest example of figurative sarcophagi found in Anatolia, with 37 figures carved on it. The scene of King Priam's daughter Polyxena's sacrifice is depicted here. Some of the gold artifacts that Heinrich Schliemann found during excavations between 1870-1890 and named Priam's Treasure are also on display. There is a broad narrative under seven main headings, from the archaeology of the Troad region to the Epic of the Iliad. Artifacts related to daily life, such as stone axes, ceramics, glass bracelets, and perfume bottles, are also included.

How to Get There
By private car, leave Çanakkale city center in the direction of İzmir, turn right at the Troy sign at the 25th km, and you will reach the museum after 5 km. The total journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Typing 'Troy Museum' or 'Tevfikiye Village' into your navigation is sufficient. If you are going by bus, you can use the Tevfikiye Village buses departing from the Cuma Pazarı car park. These buses can be crowded on weekends, so check their departure times in advance.
How Much Time to Allocate
If you only want to see the main collection and get a general idea, 60-90 minutes is sufficient. But if you want to spend time on the details of the Sarcophagus of Polyxena, the dioramas, and interactive screens, allow 2-3 hours. It makes sense to proceed to the adjacent Ancient City of Troy after visiting the museum. The artifacts you see in the museum make the ruins at the archaeological site more meaningful.

Visiting the museum in the morning and then moving on to the Ancient City of Troy around noon is a classic and logical sequence. Doing both on the same day is advantageous in terms of both walking distance and thematic coherence. If you have time, you can complete the day with a visit to either Assos or Alexandria Troas archaeological sites, both of which are in the nearby region.

In the garden section, sarcophagi and stone artifacts are exhibited outdoors, so some visitors suggest additional protection against rain and sun. Fingerprint accumulation on the glass surfaces of the exhibition showcases can make photography difficult.
