Güvenpark

There is no specific seasonal requirement to visit Güvenpark; the park is open 365 days a year. However, spring and autumn months are when the park is at its most beautiful, with the leaves on the trees. Between April-May and September-October, both the weather conditions and the general atmosphere of the park make the visit much more enjoyable.

In terms of time of day, early mornings are ideal for a walk and a quiet coffee break. In the afternoon, especially on weekends, the park gets quite crowded. In the late afternoon, the park becomes a popular spot for office workers in the vicinity, offering a lively city view. During summer months, temperatures can be high at noon, so choosing morning or late afternoon will provide a more comfortable experience.

Güvenpark is located right in the center of Ankara's public transportation network. Access by metro is the most practical option: you can reach the park with just a 1-2 minute walk after getting off at Kızılay Station, where the M1, M2, and M3 lines intersect.

For those preferring bus and dolmuş, there are dolmuş and minibus stops on the west side of the park, and numerous EGO lines passing through the Kızılay route serve on its north side. Bus lines connecting to Kızılay from different parts of the city run very frequently. For those coming by private car, there are paid parking options in the vicinity; however, considering Kızılay's heavy traffic, public transportation is always more advantageous.

Güvenpark is one of Ankara's most iconic urban photography locations. The Güven Monument, located in the center of the park, offers a dramatic photo opportunity, especially at sunset. The historic trees around the monument add depth to your compositions with their green leaves in spring.

The Kızılay Square skyline around the park and the rising buildings in the background create an interesting frame for city photography. Photos taken in the early morning with fog or soft light yield particularly impressive results. Seating areas around the pond and tree shadows also contain rich details for street photography.

Immediately around Güvenpark is Sakarya Street, one of Ankara's busiest food and drink streets. Here, a wide range of options awaits you, from fish restaurants to cafes, florists to buffets. Especially for fish appetizers and seafood, Sakarya Street's long-established venues hold a special place in the city.

On the streets around the park, cafes serving traditional Turkish breakfast, döner and pide salons, and restaurants offering international cuisine are lined up side by side. Thanks to Kızılay's central location, it is quite easy to find options suitable for every budget. A breakfast with a simit bought from nearby buffets during a short break in the park is also a classic ritual loved by Ankara residents.

You can position Güvenpark as a central stop in Ankara and combine it with other points in its vicinity. After getting off the metro at Kızılay Station, first take a short walk in Güvenpark and see the Güven Monument up close. Then, take a breakfast or lunch break on Sakarya Street.

In the afternoon, you can walk or take the metro from Kızılay to Kuğulu Park; these two parks are among Ankara's most beloved green spaces and form a complementary route. If you have more time, you can also observe the architectural texture of the capital by walking along Atatürk Boulevard. Güvenpark, when visited in the early morning, becomes an ideal starting point for the rest of the day.

Since Güvenpark is right in the center of Kızılay, the surrounding heavy traffic and crowds can affect the visitor experience. On weekend afternoons, the park gets quite crowded; for a calmer visit, you can prefer morning hours.

A part of the park has been allocated to urban uses such as dolmuş and bus stops over time, so the area might feel relatively small. It is recommended to bring water and light snacks; especially in summer, shaded areas can be limited. It is possible to walk with pets in the park, but caution is advised during crowded hours. Due to the heavy vehicle traffic in the vicinity, those with children should be careful at park entrances.

Güvenpark is located within the borders of Ankara's Çankaya district, in the heart of Kızılay Square. With an area of approximately 19,100 square meters, it is considered one of the capital's central green spaces. The Güven Monument, from which the park takes its name, forms the focal point of the park as one of the symbols of Republican history.

The park has a simple but functional layout consisting of mature trees, a pond, seating benches, and a children's playground. Entry to Güvenpark is completely free, open to visitors of all ages, and has flat paths suitable for wheelchair and stroller use. It is one of the easiest and most central points for first-time visitors to Ankara to experience the city.
