Anfa Altınpark

Anfa Altınpark is a green living center located in Ankara's Altındağ district, holding the title of the city's largest recreational area. With its vast 640 thousand square meter campus, it is more than just a park; it's a multi-layered area bustling with fairs, a science center, walking trails, and seasonal events. Being chosen as the park of the year among Eastern Mediterranean countries is a concrete indicator of how meticulously this area is managed. The land, used as a golf course until 1977, has today transformed into a meeting point where thousands of Ankarans spend their weekends.

The most enjoyable period to visit Altınpark is during the spring and autumn months. In April and May, the flower exhibitions within the park become truly dazzling; colorful tulips and seasonal flowers cover every corner. In the summer months, early morning walks are quite refreshing; however, you might find yourself looking for shaded areas in the afternoon. Although the park becomes deserted in winter, a lively atmosphere prevails throughout the year thanks to indoor events held at the ANFA Exhibition Center. Ankara's public transportation network makes reaching Altınpark quite easy. Those who wish to come by metro should choose the Kızılay-Batıkent line and get off at the AKM (Ankara Culture Center) station; the park is within walking distance from there. Make sure you choose the metro going in the Batıkent direction to avoid confusion. EGO buses are another practical option; lines 114-7, 439, 488-3, and 742 pass near the park. If you are coming by private car, you can easily reach it via Şehit Ömer Halisdemir Boulevard and park your car in the parking lots within the park.

Altınpark transforms into an open-air studio for photography enthusiasts, especially in spring. The colorful tableau created by tulips and other spring flowers during the seasonal flower exhibitions provides a perfect background for social media shares. The trees lining the park's wide walking paths create an impressive atmosphere with their yellow and orange tones in autumn. The decorative elements in the Fairy Tale Island area are among the most photographed spots for families with children. During fair periods, the large square in front of the main building becomes an area where crowded and colorful moments can be captured.

There are various cafes and food points within Altınpark. Especially during fair and event periods, mobile vendors and stands within the park become active; you can easily find simit, corn, and various snacks. For a more comprehensive dining experience, you can head to restaurants in the Altındağ district surrounding the park. If you plan a long walk, taking water and light snacks with you would be a practical choice; considering the size of the park, this small precaution is quite useful.

If you arrive at Altınpark in the morning, you can first explore the general texture of the park by completing the walking trail. Then, you can proceed to the Feza Gürsey Science Center to examine the interactive exhibits with children; it is recommended to allocate at least an hour for this section. In the afternoon, you can visit the Fairy Tale Island area and explore the park's flower and plant exhibition areas. If your visit coincides with a fair or event, spending the last part of the day at the ANFA Fair and Congress Center completes your route. Due to the size of the park, we recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes.

During fair periods, the park and its surroundings become crowded; choosing public transportation during these times offers a more practical and less stressful experience.
