Cephanelik is located in Boztepe Neighborhood, approximately 3 km from Trabzon city center. Its original name is Fatih Tower or Irene Tower. According to Trabzon Culture and Tourism Directorate records, a photograph in the Yıldız Palace albums has the Hijri date 1305 inscribed below it. The entrance is on the west facade, provided by a round-arched, double-winged iron gate. There are floral motifs decorating the upper corners of the gate.
In 2010, its operators restored the structure in accordance with its original form. Today, it is used as a restaurant-cafe and boutique hotel. The stone walls and tower body have been preserved; inside there are accommodation rooms, and outside there is a garden overlooking Trabzon. A taxi also gets you there quickly from the center. The distance from the airport is approximately 5 km.
