Kapaklı Kazak Lake Recreation Area

Kazak Lake Recreation Area can be visited all four seasons of the year; the most enjoyable period is spring and autumn. Between March and May, the oak forest turns green, and the weather is perfect for a picnic. In October-November, as the forest changes color, a beautiful atmosphere is created for photography. Since it can be crowded on summer weekends, those who want to experience the tranquil atmosphere of the lake should prefer morning hours.

The most practical way to reach the recreation area is by car. From Istanbul, you can reach Kapaklı district in about 1 hour by following the D-100 highway. The lake is only 2 km from Kapaklı town center. From Tekirdağ city center, it can also be reached by a short drive via the D-100. After arriving in Kapaklı by bus or minibus via public transport, taxi or car rental options can be considered.

There is a restaurant within the recreation area. Those planning a picnic can bring their own food; picnic tables and gazebos are ready in the area. There are also various cafes and restaurants in Kapaklı town center that can be visited before or after your trip.

The lakeside offers powerful shots, especially in the mornings with fog or early light. Walking paths in the shade of the oak forest and lake reflections are among the most preferred photo spots. Lighting fires and leaving trash in the forest area are strictly prohibited; collect your picnic waste in bags you brought and dispose of them in trash bins.
