Zeyne Tomb

Zeyne Tomb is a historical structure dating back to the Beyliks period, located in Sütlüce (Zeyne) Town, part of Mersin's Gülnar district. It contains the tombs of Sheikh Ali Semerkandi Hazretleri and his son Zeynel Abidin. With its wooden roof covering and main entrance with wooden pillars, the tomb is one of the few examples in the region, originally planned as a complex (külliye); today, it keeps its doors open for religious visits.

Gülnar and its surroundings can be quite hot in summer. The most suitable period to visit the tomb is during the milder weather of April-June and September-November. In winter months, roads to the region can sometimes become difficult; therefore, it is important to monitor the weather for winter visits. Visitor density may increase during Friday prayer times and religious holidays.

Zeyne Tomb is located within Zeyne (Sütlüce) Town, 26 kilometers along the highway extending from Gülnar town center to Mut. The most practical way to reach the tomb is by private car; regular public transport services to the area are almost non-existent. It is possible to rent a car from Mersin or Gülnar or go by taxi. The journey from Gülnar center takes approximately half an hour.

Zeyne Tomb is a place that can be explored in 30 to 60 minutes. You can combine your visit with other cultural and natural sites in the Gülnar district to create a half-day or full-day itinerary in the region. It would be appropriate to allocate extra time for those who wish to pray or spend a short prayer time at the tomb.

The most striking visual elements of the tomb are the main entrance with wooden pillars and the unique roof covering. Photos framing the entire tomb from within the large garden yield very impressive results. The morning sunlight falls softer on the structure; therefore, arriving in the morning is advantageous for photography.
