Yeşil Mosque is a structure built by Kütahya Governor Ahmed Fuad Pasha between 1905-1906. Previously, there was a wooden masjid built by Kütahya Administrator Recep Ağa in the same place. When it deteriorated over time, the current mosque was built in its place. It is built of cut stone, with a square plan and a single dome. The two-columned, domed portico at the entrance is the first striking detail.
The main difference of the mosque is its minaret. The pavilion-type minaret with a balcony is unique in Kütahya and is entirely made of cut stone with its dodecagonal body. It also surprises inside: pencil work, relief, and oil paint decorations, floral motifs, and geometric patterns from the dome to the ceiling. It is thought that the structure takes its name from these predominantly green decorations. The dome covering the harim rests on eight supports embedded in the walls.
It is stated that the construction was supported by the notables and philanthropists of Kütahya at the time, and even prisoners took part in the works. Its location at the corner on the road from Küçük Hamam to the old Government Mansion also makes the mosque's position in the city center practical.
