If you want to explore Uzun Çarşı comfortably, prefer weekday mornings. On Saturdays, the bazaar gets quite crowded with both locals and visitors; if you enjoy this lively atmosphere, Saturday morning can also be a good option. Do not plan for Sundays as most of it is closed.

Season-wise, April-May and September-October are the most suitable periods, both in terms of weather temperature and general travel conditions in Bursa. In summer, temperatures in the narrow streets can become oppressive during midday; choosing early mornings or late afternoons will make your visit much more enjoyable.

Uzun Çarşı is located in Bursa's Osmangazi district, very close to the city's historic center, the Heykel area. If you use Bursaray, you can get off at Şehreküstü or Heykel stations and walk for 5-10 minutes. There are also many municipal bus lines coming to Osmangazi center from different parts of the city.

If you come by car, it is more practical to use the paid parking lots near the bazaar due to the narrow streets in the historic center. For those coming from Istanbul for a day trip, it is quite easy to reach the center after using the Mudanya or Yenikapı ferry lines. Since the bazaar is on the same walking axis as the Grand Mosque, Koza Han, and Covered Bazaar, you can combine all these areas into a single route.

To efficiently explore Bursa's historic bazaar area, a route starting from the Grand Mosque, moving to Koza Han, and then to Uzun Çarşı and its surrounding inns works well. Along the route, you can see Ottoman-era structures like Tuz Han and Fidan Han. While walking through the bazaar, browse the shops of spice merchants, fabric sellers, and jewelers; do not hesitate to ask for prices, the shopkeepers are accustomed to travelers.

As lunchtime approaches, you can try Bursa's famous döner kebab or İskender kebab at the restaurants around the bazaar. In the afternoon, you can complete your shopping tour by moving to the Covered Bazaar. Since this entire route is within walking distance, there will be no extra transportation costs.

Uzun Çarşı and its surroundings are full of restaurants and street food offering the best examples of Bursa cuisine. The döner kebab in this area, a frequent haunt for bazaar shopkeepers and Bursa residents, is considered among the city's best; especially at lunchtime, be prepared to queue. Some of the original addresses for İskender kebab are also located in this central area.

If you are starting your tour in the morning, simit bakeries and tea houses can be your first stop. There are also small patisseries and pastry shops within the bazaar. While shopping, also look out for candied chestnuts and Bursa-specific sweets; they make great gifts for yourself and others.

Uzun Çarşı is an area where Bursa's deep-rooted silk tradition still lives on. Silk fabrics, towels, and home textile products are among the most important shopping items here. It is possible to find genuine silk products in this area connected to Koza Han; it is recommended to compare a few shops to understand the quality.

Spice merchants sell Bursa-specific blends, and jewelers sell silver jewelry and handmade products. Visiting local artisan shops rather than tourist souvenir shops yields much more satisfying results in terms of both price and authenticity. The bargaining culture still prevails in this bazaar.

Uzun Çarşı offers a fertile environment for photography in the morning hours when light falls into the narrow streets from different angles. Historic inn gates, old shops with wooden facades, and vendor stalls displaying colorful goods create interesting shots. The courtyards of Tuz Han and Fidan Han are good alternatives for those looking for a quieter photo area away from the crowds.

If you want to do street photography during busy hours within the bazaar, midday is ideal. Shop owners and artisans are generally open to being photographed; however, asking for permission first is both polite and helps you get more authentic shots. If you are using a wide-angle lens, it might be possible to capture the long and narrow structure of the bazaar in a single frame.

Some parts of Uzun Çarşı have narrow sidewalks and uneven ground; choosing comfortable walking shoes is important for both comfort and safety. If you are using a wheelchair or stroller, be aware that you may encounter difficulties in some passages.
