Guide's Note
General Information About the Tomb
The Şirvanlı İsmail Tomb takes its name from Mevlânâ İsmail Siraceddin Şirvani, who rests within. Şirvani was a great religious scholar from the Şirvan region of Azerbaijan and left deep marks in Amasya. His son, Şirvanlızade Mehmet Rüştü Pasha, dedicated this work to his father's memory in 1870. The structure is sometimes referred to as Yukarı Türbe (Upper Tomb) by the public.
Inside the tomb, there are two sarcophagi: one belonging to Mevlânâ İsmail Siraceddin, and the other to Rüştü Pasha's brother, who was transferred from Istanbul. Today, the tomb is a frequent destination for those who come to pray and visit, offering a peaceful atmosphere to visitors with its simple interior.
