Hamdullah Efendi Tomb

Hamdullah Efendi holds a respected place in the Alevi-Bektashi tradition as the 23rd Postnişin of Hacı Bektaş Veli Dervish Lodge. In addition, he is also known as a founding figure in the development of Ottoman calligraphy. After his death, a tomb was built for him in Amasya in 1847 by his admirers; his wife Güleser Hanım was also buried within the same structure. Today, the tomb maintains its importance as both a spiritual pilgrimage site for Alevi communities and a part of Amasya's historical heritage.

Considering Amasya's climate, the periods of April–June and September–October stand out as the most comfortable months for a visit. The city can be hot in mid-summer; choosing early morning hours during this period will make the visit more enjoyable. In winter months, as tourist density decreases in the city, you will have the chance to visit the tomb in a calm atmosphere. If you are coming by car, you can use the parking lots in the city center.

The entrance gate of the tomb and the construction inscription above it are among the most striking photo spots of the structure. The single-domed silhouette resting on a square body offers an impressive view, especially in the morning light. The narrow street texture surrounding the exterior of the tomb also allows you to capture frames reflecting Amasya's unique historical atmosphere.
