The ideal period to visit Uçmakdere is between April-June and September-October. During these months, air temperatures are very suitable for nature walks and paragliding; the crowds are also much smaller compared to mid-summer. In July and August, beach activities and swimming come to the forefront, but the village and its surroundings become busy on weekends. In winter, the village remains quiet; this period can be preferred by those who want to take photos and hike, but some local businesses may be closed.

Uçmakdere can be reached from Istanbul by car in approximately 2.5-3 hours. Continuing on the D110 highway to Tekirdağ, then towards Şarköy, is the most common route. The road providing access to the village was built in 1972; before this date, the village was quite isolated.

Those who wish to come by public transport can find buses from Istanbul to Şarköy; minibus services run from Şarköy to Uçmakdere. Since the number of services is limited, we recommend researching return times in advance. Confirm with an official source before going.

Upon arriving in the village in the morning, you can first take a short walk to see the historical Greek village texture. Then you can climb the slopes of Ganos Mountain to enjoy the view or contact paragliding operators. In the afternoon, you can spend time around the cove and wooden pier, take photos, and if sea conditions permit, participate in diving or canoeing activities. There are places in the village that offer local breakfast; starting the day with this pleasure is also a good option.

The most striking photo angles of Uçmakdere are obtained from the slopes of Ganos Mountain; from here, a wide panorama of both the coves and the Marmara Sea can be seen. The wooden piers and small coves in the village offer strong compositions, especially in the morning light. The stone structures and narrow streets of the old Greek village will also attract those who want to take documentary-style photographs. The bird's-eye views obtained during paragliding flights are among the most shared photos on social media.

Since Uçmakdere is a small village, do not expect a wide selection of restaurants. There are small businesses offering local breakfast within the village and places serving camping areas. Thracian cheeses, olives, and homemade products are flavors you will frequently encounter in this region. For a more comprehensive dining experience, you may need to go to the Şarköy district center; here, fish restaurants and places offering local delicacies provide more options.

Accommodation options in Uçmakdere are limited; there are a few boutique guesthouses and camping facilities within the village. The region is very suitable for those who want to camp; however, it is recommended to make a reservation in advance as it may be difficult to find a place during the summer season. For more hotel options, Şarköy or Tekirdağ city center can be preferred; day trips to Uçmakdere are possible from both locations.

For activities such as paragliding and diving, make sure to work with licensed and experienced operators. Since the road to the village passes through the mountain slope, road conditions can become difficult in winter; pay attention to vehicle use during seasonal transitions. Since there may not be an ATM or a large market in the village, it is advisable to bring enough cash and provisions. Mobile signal may be weak in some spots; plan your activities keeping this in mind.
