Akaylar Mansion is a 19th-century stone structure located in Sivas's Kaleardı Neighborhood next to Gök Medrese, used by the Directorate of Surveying and Monuments.
Akaylar Mansion stands in one of the narrow streets of Kaleardı Neighborhood, right next to Gök Medrese. Dating back to the 19th century, the structure is a typical three-story Sivas house built of stone. It was designed for the family to live comfortably within a large garden; at the time, it also had sections such as a bakery house, stable, fountain, and toilet, but nothing remains of these today. Only the main building stands today.
The owners of the mansion donated the structure to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the building is currently used as the service building for the Sivas Directorate of Surveying and Monuments. This means it is not a museum that can be entered and explored, but a historical building where a public institution operates. For those visiting Gök Medrese, it is an unmissable stop right on the corner of the street. With its stone craftsmanship and mansion architecture, it offers a texture from a later century, different from Sivas's Seljuk period works.
