Keyfalan Plateau

The classic season for plateau tourism is between June and September. During this period, for those escaping the city heat, the weather is 7-8 degrees cooler, and if there's also a breeze, sitting in the shade becomes enjoyable. In winter, when it snows, the plateau is covered in white, offering a different view. However, road conditions can be variable during this period, so it's useful to inquire about snow removal and road accessibility beforehand.

The plateau is 134 kilometers from Ordu city center and only 20 kilometers from Mesudiye district center. The road is entirely asphalt, making private car access easy. There are regular bus services from Ordu to Mesudiye; from the district to the plateau, you can go by plateau minibuses that run in the summer months or by taxi. If you don't have your own car, staying one night in Mesudiye and leaving early the next day is a more comfortable plan.

Half a day is enough for just a picnic and the view. If you want to walk in the surrounding pine forests, visit the fountains, and wait for the sunset, allocate a full day. For those considering camping, an overnight stay is also logical; the misty view in the early morning hours offers a unique beauty.

After visiting Mesudiye district center, set off before noon. When you arrive at the plateau, first go to the lake-view picnic area; since tables, swings, and a fountain are all together, it's a comfortable spot for families to spend time. In the afternoon, take a short walk on the paths in the pine forest. If you can stay until sunset, don't leave without watching the light hit the grassy area.

The lahmacun and pide made in the facilities on the plateau are a taste praised by regular visitors; prices are also said to be reasonable. Classic Black Sea plateau products such as fresh milk, plateau honey, and cheese can also be found here. Bringing your own picnic supplies and brewing tea with spring water is also a common choice.

It gets crowded in the summer months, especially on weekends, so going early will help you find a spot. Even in the summer heat, the evening coolness sets in quickly, so be sure to bring a cardigan or jacket. It is also seen in comments that some visitors' expectations are not met. If you go during crowded periods, plan a picnic and view-focused visit instead of seeking tranquility.
