Karakas Mansion was built by Hacı Mustafa Efendi, son of Karakaşlı Mehmet Efendi, between 1875 and 1880. In its early years, a large family lived here: Hacı Mustafa Efendi, his mother, his elder brother's sons and their wives, along with his seven children born later. Over time, the house became crowded, and this life continued first with Hacı Mustafa Efendi's own family, and then with the families of his sons Ahmet and Şevket.
The building has a rectangular plan, is of the Hilani plan type, and is made of adobe. The roof of the two-story mansion was originally flat but was later converted into a tiled hip roof. The facade facing the courtyard has an iwan. On the ground floor, there is a sofa called 'taşlık', a winter room with 'tahtıbek' cupboards and a fireplace, a pantry, and bedrooms.
