Arapgir Kozluk Stream Canyon is a natural valley in Malatya's Arapgir district, approximately 17 kilometers long, stretching from Çiğnir Bridge to the old Kozluk Bridge, suitable for trekking, camping, and swimming activities.
Kozluk Stream Canyon stretches in the valley followed by the Kemaliye-Erzincan road, close to Arapgir town center. The stream flows for approximately 17,847 meters through steep and rugged cliffs. It starts from Çiğnir Bridge and ends near the old Kozluk Bridge. It is possible to spot mountain goats on the rocky slopes, which indicates how unspoiled the region remains.
This valley, also known as Kayaarası Canyon, offers suitable terrain for nature sports. Trekking, mountaineering, fishing, and camping are prominent activities here. Shallow and deep pools form along the stream in places, which are used as swimming spots in the summer months. Approximately 5 kilometers from Arapgir center towards Kemaliye, you reach the bridge over the stream, and from there, you can walk along the canyon.
The region has gained recognition on social media in recent years, and the number of visitors has rapidly increased, especially in the summer months. There are picnic areas and designated spots for camping, but the infrastructure is still limited. You need to bring your own supplies for water, shade, and trash collection.

The most suitable period is between April and October. In spring, the stream flows abundantly, and the greenery is vibrant. Although the water level drops in summer, the number of visitors seeking to escape the heat increases. How to Get There
From Malatya city center, there is approximately 140 km to Arapgir by private car. After reaching Arapgir, follow the Kemaliye-Erzincan highway for about 5 km to reach the bridge over Kozluk Stream. Public transportation is limited; going by your own car or a rented car from the region is the most practical option.
How Much Time to Allocate
Half a day is enough to see the canyon and take photos. If you plan to swim, picnic, or take a short walk, allocate a full day. Those who want to camp can stay overnight to experience the morning and evening light.
Route Suggestion
The section from Çiğnir Bridge to the old Kozluk Bridge is the most striking part of the canyon. There is a possibility of seeing mountain goats in the steep and rugged cliff sections of the valley; walking quietly is advantageous in this regard. Those who want to extend the route can continue towards the Kayaarası Canyon section.

Infrastructure is limited. You need to carry your own supplies such as water, food, and trash bags. It is important to wear sturdy shoes when walking on rocky terrain, as there is a risk of slipping. If you encounter wild animals, maintain your distance and do not harm nature.

The points where the bridges intersect with the stream showcase historical texture and natural scenery together. Narrow passages where the cliffs squeeze the stream from both sides are also preferred for shots that reveal the depth of the canyon.
