Saklı Konak Ali Atalar Collection

Saklı Konak is a special collection venue, opened to visitors in 2011, where journalist Ali Atalar's approximately 40 years of accumulation materialized. Defined as Turkey's first private copper museum, the structure is located in a historic Antep mansion right next to Gaziantep Castle. Over 1,630 Ottoman-era copper artifacts, including plates, ewers, cauldrons, candlesticks, and kitchen utensils, are displayed across 12 rooms. In addition to copper, handwritten books, antique weapons, and various collection pieces can also be seen in the mansion.

The most suitable periods to visit Gaziantep are April–May and September–October. The street where the mansion is located is narrow and cobblestone, making wheelchair or stroller use difficult. It is also a good habit to ask for permission to take photos in advance at the venue.
