Yediler İlbadı Tomb is an octagonal-planned structure from the Seljuk period, located in Denizli's Merkezefendi district, within Denizli's oldest cemetery, and can be visited free of charge.
Yediler İlbadı Tomb is located in Denizli's Merkezefendi district, on Mehmet Gazi Street, right next to Yediler Mosque. The İlbadı Cemetery, where the tomb is situated, is Denizli's oldest known cemetery; it has been in continuous use since the 13th century, the Seljuk period. The structure, which remained outside the cemetery boundary during road widening works, now stands alone on the street, gaining a striking appearance.
Architecturally, the tomb is an octagonal-planned structure with an octagonal prismatic body, covered by a dome. The octagonal body, built with cut stone and spolia, ends with a wide eaves at the top. Scientific excavations carried out in the structure brought to light most of its original architectural elements. Denizli Metropolitan Municipality also restored and protected the tomb. The structure is suggested to date between 1260-1360, the century of the Mongol invasion.

When to Visit?
The most suitable times to visit the tomb are the spring (April–May) and autumn (September–October) months. Denizli summers are quite hot; choosing early morning hours during this season provides a more comfortable trip. Since the tomb is close to the city center, it can be combined with other historical sites in the region such as Pamukkale or Laodikeia on the same day.
How to Get There?
The tomb is located on Mehmet Gazi Street in Denizli city center. It is approximately 1 km from the Denizli bus terminal and 500 m north of Kaleiçi Bazaar; both are accessible on foot. For those arriving by car, parking is available on the street. For urban transportation, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality buses can be used; lines serving Merkezefendi routes pass near the tomb.
Photo Spots
To best frame the symmetrical facades of the octagonal body, it is necessary to walk a full circle around the tomb. Although it is difficult to capture an overhead view of the dome, low-angle shots highlight the structure's height and stone craftsmanship. Before noon, sunlight accentuates the texture of the cut stones. Compositions created with the adjacent Yediler Mosque are also effective in reflecting the historical atmosphere.
