Tazı Canyon

The most suitable periods to visit Tazı Canyon are April-May and September-October. In spring, the surroundings turn green, and temperatures are very comfortable for hiking. In autumn, crowds decrease, and lighting conditions become much more favorable for photography.

During July-August, the region can be quite hot; visiting early in the morning or close to sunset during these months offers a cooler experience and creates a visually stunning scene as the light falls on the canyon's rocks. Facility activities may be limited in winter.

Tazı Canyon is located approximately 105 kilometers from Antalya city center and about 60 kilometers from Manavgat district center. Coming by private car is the most practical option; navigation apps direct you to the canyon. It should be noted that the last 1.5 kilometers consist of a dirt and bumpy road, so high-clearance vehicles are preferred.

For those who do not want to drive, organized day tours departing from Antalya and Manavgat are a good alternative. Most of these tours combine Tazı Canyon with rafting in Köprülü Canyon. It is also possible to reach by minibus or taxi from Manavgat.

Tazı Canyon serves as an open-air studio for photography enthusiasts. The 300-400 meter high cliff walls create dramatic shadows, especially in morning and evening light. The view of the valley from the upper edge of the canyon offers stunning shots with wide-angle lenses.

Photos taken from the zipline platform are also quite impressive; it is possible to see the depth and width of the canyon together. The orange-red light falling on the cliffs at sunset is among the most shared shots. We recommend bringing a wide-angle lens or an external lens adapter for your phone.

The facility at the entrance of the canyon offers basic food and beverage options to visitors. Since options are limited in the region, it is recommended that those planning to stay for a long time bring sufficient water and snacks with them.

For a more comprehensive dining experience, there are small restaurants in the nearby village of Beşkonak. Various facilities and restaurants can also be found along the Köprülü Canyon route; local gözleme (Turkish flatbread), ayran (yogurt drink), and fresh trout are among the frequently encountered delicacies in these restaurants.

While it is possible to visit Tazı Canyon alone, for those who want to fully experience the region, the most logical plan is to combine it with Köprülü Canyon National Park. The two points are only a few kilometers apart.

The suggested day trip route can be structured as follows: Depart from Antalya early in the morning, first experience the view and zipline at Tazı Canyon, then go rafting in Köprülü Canyon. Have lunch at a facility in the region and return to Antalya in the evening. This route combines both adventure and nature experience into the same day.

Since the last part of the road to the canyon is dirt and bumpy, high-clearance vehicles or SUV-type vehicles should be preferred. It can also be reached with standard passenger cars, but requires slow and careful driving.

There may be certain weight and age restrictions for zipline and other activities at the facility; it is good to get information in advance. Be sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen; rocky areas get very hot in summer. Wearing appropriate trekking shoes or at least sturdy sports shoes is important for both comfort and safety.

Tazı Canyon can be planned as a day trip stop added to an Antalya trip. If you only plan to enjoy the scenery and take a short walk, 2-3 hours will suffice; for those who want to experience zipline and other activities, it is more accurate to calculate half a day or a full day.

When planned together with Köprülü Canyon, a full day needs to be allocated. Overnight stays are also possible for those who want to camp in the region; in this case, it is possible to see the canyon in the morning, when it is calmer and the light is at its best.
