Best Time to Visit
There is no prohibited season for visiting Dim River; the valley is accessible all year round. The period from late May to early October is when both the weather and the water are most enjoyable. In July and August, it is flooded with local and foreign tourists escaping Alanya's scorching heat; it can be quite crowded on weekends.
If you want a calmer atmosphere, prefer weekday mornings. You can walk without hearing almost anything other than the sound of the river, before the restaurants get crowded. In spring, the valley offers every shade of green and the water flow is at its highest; it's an especially good opportunity for photography.
How to Get to Dim River?
If you are departing from Alanya city center, simply proceed on the D400 highway towards Gazipaşa-Mersin and follow the Tosmur sign. You need to travel approximately 10-15 kilometers to the valley entrance. Those going by car can find parking on both sides of the valley.
For those preferring public transport, regular dolmuş services depart from Alanya bus terminal to Tosmur and surrounding villages. Taking a taxi from Alanya city center is also a reasonable option; the fare won't be too high as the distance is short. Organized tour vehicles from different districts of Alanya also arrange day trips to Dim River.
What to Eat at Dim River?
The most famous delicacy of Dim River is undoubtedly fresh trout. Restaurants on wooden platforms built over the river serve daily fresh trout grilled or steamed. Eating while listening to the sound of the water, dangling your feet, or sitting on the edge of the platform is a feeling rarely encountered elsewhere.

Depart from Alanya early in the morning and enter the valley via Tosmur. First, take a short walk along the riverbank; feel the inside of the valley. Then follow the asphalt road and drive or walk to Dim Dam; the view of the dam lake is worth taking time for.
On your way back, have fresh trout at one of the riverside restaurants at lunchtime.
