The ideal time to visit Karabük is between April-June and September-October. In spring, the forests and valleys are adorned with every shade of green; the water level in Tokatlı Canyon is perfect for hiking. In autumn, walking through the streets of Safranbolu among yellow and red leaves offers a completely different experience.

During the summer months, especially July and August, the crowds in Safranbolu increase significantly; accommodation prices rise, and the historical bazaar becomes crowded. Early booking is very important during this period. In winter, the city calms down, and the snowy streets of Safranbolu gain a fairytale appearance; however, some nature routes may become inaccessible.

The Safranbolu Culture and Tourism Festival, held annually in Safranbolu, brings a particularly lively atmosphere to the city; we recommend following these dates in advance.

By Bus: There are regular bus services to Karabük Bus Terminal from many major cities in Turkey. The journey from Istanbul takes approximately four to five hours. Metro Turizm, Kamil Koç, and various regional companies operate on this route.

By Train: The Ankara-Zonguldak railway line passes through Karabük. While it is possible to reach Karabük by train from Ankara, the number of services is limited; we recommend checking the current TCDD schedules before departing.

By Plane: The closest airport to Karabük is Ankara Esenbo臒a Airport. Reaching Karabük by road from Esenbo臒a takes approximately two and a half to three hours. Zonguldak Airport is also an alternative, but it also requires continuing by road.

By Car: It is possible to reach Karabük from Istanbul via the D-100 highway or the TEM motorway. From Ankara, it takes approximately two hours. Traveling by car within the city and in Safranbolu provides great convenience, especially for reaching canyons and forest routes.

The distance between Karabük city center and Safranbolu is approximately nine kilometers. Minibuses and dolmushes operate regularly between these two points. The most practical way to reach Safranbolu is to use these dolmushes.

The historical bazaar area of Safranbolu, 脟arşı Mahallesi, is the most suitable area for walking; narrow streets and cobblestone roads are not very suitable for vehicle traffic. You can reach high points like Hıdırlık Hill by walking or by taxi.

To reach points outside the city such as Tokatlı Canyon, Yenice Forests, and Hadrianapolis Ancient City, using a rental car is the most practical option. Reaching these points by public transport is quite difficult. Taxi services are also available in Karabük and can be easily used for city transportation.

Safranbolu Historical Bazaar and Ottoman Houses: Safranbolu, within the scope of UNESCO World Heritage, is Karabük's most important tourism center. Streets lined with wooden and adobe Ottoman mansions offer a unique environment for those who want to journey into history. A few hours spent walking in 脟arşı Mahallesi will transport you to a different era.

Cinci Han and Hamam: This 17th-century caravanserai is one of Safranbolu's symbols. Currently serving as a hotel, the han fascinates visitors with its historical atmosphere. The adjacent hamam has also been restored and opened to tourism.

Hadrianapolis Ancient City: Located in the Eskipazar district, this Roman-era ancient city attracts attention especially with its mosaics and theater. Being one of Turkey's relatively lesser-known ancient cities makes it a calmer and more authentic experience.

Places to Visit: Entrance fees are charged for points such as Hadrianapolis Ancient City and Bulak Cave; however, these fees are generally symbolic. Hikes in Tokatlı Canyon and Yenice Forests are free.
