Edremit Kız Kalesi has a history of approximately 3,000 years. This hill, considered sacred for religious ceremonies and royal coronation rituals during the Urartian Kingdom period, also held importance for centuries due to its strategic location dominating the region. The area, known as "Kıztaşı" (Maiden's Stone) by the local people for many years, was re-arranged and opened to visitors through extensive restoration work carried out by the Edremit Municipality. The site, also registered on the Culture Portal, is among Van's registered cultural heritage sites.
