Hüsrev Kethüda Fountain

The Hüsrev Kethüda Fountain is located on Tekke Street in the Camiatik Neighborhood of Malkara district, Tekirdağ. Dating back to the Hijri year 971, corresponding to 1564 AD, the structure was built by the Ottoman statesman Hüsrev Kethüda. Also known as the Old Mosque Fountain, the structure, along with the historical mosque opposite it, holds a firm place in Malkara's collective memory.

The fountain exhibits typical features of 16th-century Ottoman stone architecture with its pointed arch facade and stepped arch craftsmanship. The inscription on it reveals not only the physical but also the cultural and social dimensions of the structure.

With a history of approximately 460 years, the Hüsrev Kethüda Fountain is one of the most important water structures in Malkara that has been carried from the Ottoman period to the present day.
