Hacılar Bridge

Since Hacılar Bridge is located outdoors, it can be visited throughout the year. In spring, the water level of the Hayrabolu Stream is relatively high, giving the arches under the bridge a more striking appearance. Autumn is a preferred period for photography due to milder temperatures and the changing colors of nature. In mid-summer, the stream's flow may decrease; in winter months, cold and rainy weather conditions may occasionally be encountered in the region.

The bridge is located in the Hayrabolu district, approximately 45 km from Tekirdağ city center, on the Tekirdağ-Hayrabolu highway route. Regular minibus and bus services operate from Tekirdağ to Hayrabolu; after arriving at the district center, the bridge can be reached on foot or by a short car ride. For those coming by private car, it is possible to stop at points near the bridge on Tekirdağ Street; however, caution is required regarding parking as the roadside is narrow. We recommend confirming current road conditions from local sources before you go.

With its six-arched structure, Hacılar Bridge offers a beautiful subject for those who want to see stonemasonry up close. To capture the entire bridge, it is necessary to step back to the edge of the stream or a little further; from this angle, the symmetrical arrangement of the arches is clearly visible. In photographs taken during the morning or afternoon hours when the light is softer, the texture of the stones appears more distinct. Looking from under the bridge, the arch structure also creates an interesting composition.

Hacılar Bridge is a 15-30 minute stop on its own. When combined with other historical structures in Hayrabolu, it can turn into a half-day cultural excursion. If you add points such as Sarbanı Ahmed Tomb, Ulu Mosque, Paşa Mosque, and Hacılar Village Tumulus, you will have fully explored the district. Planning it as a day trip from Tekirdağ city center is the most practical option.

When you go to Hayrabolu, you can create a short route centered around Hacılar Bridge. First, you can visit the Ulu Mosque and Paşa Mosque in the district center, and then stop by the Sarbanı Ahmed Tomb. Continue your route in the direction of Tekirdağ Street to Hacılar Bridge; as a final stop, you can add Emiryakup Village Mosque or Hacılar Village Tumulus. All these points are close to each other, so they can be easily completed in half a day.

Since Hacılar Bridge is not an active transportation route, it is possible to walk on the bridge; however, it is important not to damage the stones, keeping in mind that the structure is a historical monument and is under protection. For those who want to go down to the streambed, the ground can be slippery, so choosing appropriate footwear would be advisable. There are no regular facilities (toilet, cafe, etc.) in the vicinity; it would be more practical to meet your needs in the Hayrabolu district center.

There are no food and drink establishments right next to the bridge. In the Hayrabolu district center, there are various restaurant and coffee shop options. For those who want to try the local flavors of Thracian cuisine, the small artisan restaurants in the district are a good starting point. Tekirdağ's famous meatballs and the region's cheese varieties are also among the must-try delicacies during your visit.
