The best time to visit Şanlıurfa is spring and autumn. Between March-May and September-November, the weather is mild; you can comfortably visit both the mosque and the surrounding historical and religious sites. In summer, especially in July and August, temperatures can exceed 40 degrees Celsius. During this period, planning your visit in the early morning or late afternoon would be much wiser. The city gains a special vibrancy during Ramadan; religious sites become more crowded during this time.

The Prophet's Mosque is located next to the Mufti's Office building in Şanlıurfa's Kamberiye Quarter. It is possible to reach the quarter from the city center by public buses and minibuses. Since it is close to Urfa's most visited spots such as Balıklıgöl and Halil-ür Rahman Mosque, you can also walk there after visiting these places. Taxis are quite easy to find throughout the city. From Şanlıurfa Airport, the city center can be reached in approximately 20-25 minutes by shuttle or taxi.

The Prophet's Mosque stands in the middle of Şanlıurfa's dense historical and religious site fabric. Within walking distance are Balıklıgöl (Halil-ür Rahman and Aynzeliha lakes), Halil-ür Rahman Mosque, Urfa Castle, and Şanlıurfa Archaeology Museum. A little further away are the Shrine and Mosque of Prophet Job, Göbeklitepe, one of the most important archaeological sites in human history, and historical Harran. You can create an efficient travel plan by combining all these places on a single route.

For those planning a one-day faith and culture itinerary in Şanlıurfa, we recommend the following order: Start early in the morning around Balıklıgöl, visit the Halil-ür Rahman Mosque. From there, walk to the Prophet's Mosque. In the afternoon, climb up to Urfa Castle to enjoy the panoramic view of the city, and towards evening, visit the Shrine of Prophet Job. If you have time, add a trip to Göbeklitepe and Harran the next day; these two points are places that should not be missed when visiting Urfa.

Şanlıurfa cuisine is one of Turkey's most unique regional cuisines. Urfa kebab (served with spicy meatballs), çiğköfte, lahmacun, and katmer must be tried in the historical bazaar and restaurants around the mosque. For breakfast, an Urfa-style table prepared with simit, cheese, and local olives offers a distinct experience. The tea gardens around Balıklıgöl are also very suitable for both resting and enjoying local snacks.

The Prophet's Mosque is an active place of worship. It is important to be mindful of prayer times during your visit and maintain a respectful distance from worshippers. When entering the mosque, you should remove your shoes, and female visitors are required to cover their heads; therefore, it would be practical to carry a headscarf with you. Asking for permission from worshippers when taking photos is a matter of courtesy. Do not forget to carry plenty of water and use sunscreen against Şanlıurfa's summer heat.

The exterior of the mosque and its minaret, together with the historical texture of the Kamberiye Quarter, offer beautiful shots. Photos taken in the morning and evening hours when the light is soft turn out much more impressive. The surrounding historical buildings, narrow streets, and traditional Urfa architecture also contain interesting details for photography enthusiasts. Balıklıgöl and its surroundings are among Urfa's most photographic spots; if you combine the mosque with this area, you can get great shots.
