Veysel Candan Cave

The paths and village roads leading to the cave are safer during spring and summer. With autumn rains, the roads become muddy, and in winter, both driving and hiking conditions can become difficult.

Veysel Candan Cave is located approximately 17 kilometers from Kocaeli city center. You can reach Servetiye Village by following the Yuvacık town road, and from there, proceed to the Soğuksu area. Coming by car is both the fastest and easiest way.

For those who want to explore Başiskele's nature route in a single day, the following order works well: First, visit Veysel Candan Cave via Servetiye Village, then visit Cirbin Ali Cave, which is approximately 1 kilometer northwest. As the last stop of the day, you can add Sinanlı Waterfall; the waterfall is about 6.6 kilometers from the cave.

By combining these three points, you can experience a cave, a waterfall, and a forest walk all on the same day. Don't forget to bring enough water and snacks; there are no ready-food sales points in the area.

The cave entrance offers interesting photo opportunities when light filters in from outside. A wide-angle lens or a phone camera's night mode is very useful for capturing the dark interior sections of the cave.
