Tynada Harabesi, Isparta'nın Aksu ilçesine bağlı Terziler köyünde Sivri Tepe eteklerinde yer alan Hellenistik dönem yerleşimidir. Tapınak kalıntıları, kaya mezarları ve yazıtlarla dikkat çeken, henüz yoğun turizme açılmamış antik alan ücretsiz olarak ziyaret edilebilir.
Tynada Ruins, located on the slopes of Sivri Tepe (locally known as Asar Tepe) in Terziler village, which is part of Aksu district in Isparta. The remains are spread over a wide area extending to the borders of Karağı and Koçular villages. Based on temple and building remains, the city is believed to belong to the Hellenistic period, the era when Pisidian civilization was influential.
Among the structures visible at the site are the remains of a circular building, various inscriptions, gravestones, and a rock tomb on the southern surface of Sivri Tepe. In places, roof tiles, vessels, pottery and jug fragments can be seen on the ground surface. The limited excavation work has resulted in much of the area remaining in its natural state. This holds special value both for researchers and those wishing to explore away from crowds.
For those wishing to visit the area, Tynada serves less as a standalone day trip destination and more as a stop to be combined with other points in Aksu district such as Zindan Cave, Zindan Roman Bridge, and Timbriada Ancient City. Since there are no guided tours or information panels, doing some preliminary reading beforehand makes it easier to understand the site.
Guide's Note
What is Tynada Ruins?
Tynada is a Hellenistic period settlement located on the slopes of Sivri Tepe in Terziler village, which is part of Aksu district in Isparta. The region was within the influence area of Pisidian civilization in ancient times. The city's boundaries are quite extensive; temple foundations, building remains and tomb traces have been identified in an area extending to Karağı and Koçular villages.
When Should You Visit?
Since it is an open-air site, weather conditions are important. In spring and autumn, the ground surface is easier to walk on, while in summer months, morning hours should be preferred due to lack of shade. In winter months, consider that the trail sections may be muddy after rainfall.
How to Get There?
After reaching Aksu district from Isparta center, head towards Terziler village. The final section from the village to the slopes of Sivri Tepe may require a dirt road or a short hike. Public transportation is not practical; traveling with your own vehicle or with a guide familiar with the area is easier.
How Much Time Should You Allocate?
Approximately 2 hours is sufficient for the site itself. However, if you combine it with other stops in the area (Zindan Cave, Zindan Roman Bridge, Timbriada Ancient City, Yaka Canyon), you can spend the entire day exploring the Aksu area.
Explore with Nearby Stops
There are several other nearby points: Senitli Plateau Remains and Zindan Cave are approximately 9 km to the northwest, Zindan Roman Bridge is further in the same direction, and Yaka Canyon is about 9 km to the southeast. In a one-day Aksu tour, combining two or three of these stops with Tynada makes for a logical itinerary.
Things You Should Know Before Going
There are no information panels, ticket office or sales points at the site; therefore, you should bring water, a hat and sunscreen with you. Prefer hiking boots, as the ground is uneven and rocky. When walking among the remains, be careful not to remove stones or fragments from their original places.
Photography Spots
The rock tomb on the southern surface of Sivri Tepe and the wide valley views from the hilltop are the most striking points from a photographic perspective. Early morning hours when light hits at an angle reveal stone texture and the volume of remains more distinctly.
