During these months, weather conditions are favorable for hiking and photography; the rocky paths along the lava columns can also be explored more safely. Visitor density may increase in July-August; for a calmer experience, May, June, or September can be preferred. In winter, the harsh winds and rainy weather of the Black Sea do not offer very suitable conditions for exploring the area.

The most practical way to reach Guzelcehisar is by private car. It is approximately a 4-hour drive from Ankara. From Istanbul, it can be reached in 3.5-4 hours via the Zonguldak or Bartın route. From Bartın city center, simply proceed in the direction of Amasra and follow the Guzelcehisar road sign; there are signs along the way.

For those arriving by public transport, taking a taxi or renting a car after reaching Bartın or Amasra bus terminals is the most logical option. There are no regular minibus or shuttle services to the village.

Guzelcehisar's most striking photography spot is the observation deck in front of the lava columns. From here, it is possible to capture both the geometric structure of the columns and the Black Sea in the same frame. The sections of the wooden walking path extending along the coast also offer opportunities for shots from different angles. Photos taken looking out to sea from the pier yield particularly impressive results, especially in the golden hour light. A wide-angle lens or panorama mode on a phone camera is useful for reflecting the full scale of the lava columns.

A one-day itinerary combining Guzelcehisar with other points in and around Bartın can be very efficient. Starting from Guzelcehisar Lava Columns, exploring the observation deck and walking paths, then taking a lunch break at İnkumu Beach, approximately 3 km away, has become a classic choice. In the afternoon, visiting Amasra to explore its historical castle and bazaar is a great option to complete the day. Amasra is approximately 10-15 minutes away from Guzelcehisar.

There are no settlements or dining establishments in Guzelcehisar itself. It is recommended to bring food and sufficient water with you before your visit. The nearest dining options are located in the district center of Amasra; anchovies, bonito, and other Black Sea fish are among the prominent flavors of the region. Various restaurants and cafes can also be found in Bartın city center.

As Guzelcehisar is a natural area, infrastructure facilities are quite limited. Facilities such as toilets and cafeterias may not be available in the region; it is necessary to prepare accordingly. Coastal rocks can become slippery when wet; especially those with children should be careful when venturing off the wooden walking paths. Since sea waves can rise suddenly in the rocky areas near the lava columns, it is important to be cautious along the coastline. GSM signal quality may be weak in the region; downloading the map in advance and using it offline for navigation is a practical solution.

1.5 to 3 hours is sufficient for Guzelcehisar itself. Exploring the lava columns, spending time on the observation deck, and traversing the walking path from start to finish can be comfortably done within this time. For those who want to dedicate time to photography, the duration may be slightly longer. If you combine Guzelcehisar with İnkumu Beach and Amasra, you will have a full day's program.
