The Aspendos Aqueducts are located near Belkıs village in the Serik district of Antalya, right around the ancient city of Aspendos. Since shaded areas are extremely limited, it is much more sensible to prefer early mornings or late afternoons during this period. In winter months, the region becomes deserted, and some services may close; however, this period can also be considered an option for those who want to see the structure in a calm environment.
How to Get to Aspendos Aqueducts?
From Antalya city center, follow the D400 highway to Serik district, then follow the signs for Belkıs/Aspendos. The total distance is approximately 47 kilometers. Coming by private car is both the fastest and most flexible option; there is ample parking space.
For those preferring public transport, there are regular bus services from Antalya bus terminal to Serik. From Serik, you need to continue to Aspendos by minibus or taxi. Many tour companies in Antalya city center also organize daily combined tours covering Perge, Aspendos, and Side; these tours offer a practical alternative in terms of both transportation and guidance.
Suggested Itinerary: Aspendos and Surroundings
The aqueducts, when visited not as a single stop but combined with other ancient sites in and around Aspendos, turn into a much more productive day. The itinerary can be structured as follows:
Morning: Visit to Perge Ancient City (close to Antalya, approximately 1–2 hours). Lunch: Aspendos Ancient City and its theater, followed by an approximately 1 km walk to the aqueducts. Afternoon: The historical Seljuk bridge over the Köprüçay River and optionally Side Ancient City. This route also coincides with daily tour programs known as the PAS Tour, which are widely implemented in the region.

For the best photo angles of the aqueducts, you need to go to the south facade of the arches; from here, it is possible to capture the entire series of arches in a single frame. During sunrise and sunset, known as the golden hour, the warm light hitting the stone surfaces gives the structure a very dramatic appearance. The open field in front of the arches provides a natural backdrop for wide-angle shots. Close-up shots capturing the stone channel and brickwork details in the upper part also yield interesting results. What to Eat Nearby?
There are no large restaurants immediately around Aspendos; small cafes and stands offering local delicacies like gözleme and pide may be located near the entrance. For a more comprehensive dining experience, Serik town center or Side, approximately 25 km away, are good choices. In Side, there are many restaurants where Mediterranean cuisine meets fresh fish and seafood. Those planning to return to Antalya can try local delicacies such as piyaz, shish köfte, and fresh fruit juice in local restaurants around Kaleiçi.
Things to Consider Before Visiting
Shaded areas around the aqueducts are extremely limited; therefore, be sure to bring plenty of water, a hat, and sunscreen. Since the ground consists of uneven stone and soil, we recommend wearing comfortable, closed-toe shoes. As the structure is outdoors and in an unprotected area, the ground can become slippery in rainy weather. Photography is allowed; however, climbing the structure or damaging the stones is prohibited.
