Buses operating on the Kızılcahamam route are also an option, but you may need to cover the final distance to the dam area by walking or with an additional vehicle. Since it is approximately 5 km from Kahramankazan district center, it is also possible to take a taxi after reaching the district.

Restaurant options around the dam are quite limited; visitor reviews also emphasize that there are no markets or buffets in the area. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to bring your own food and drinks. You can obtain your picnic supplies from Ankara or from markets in Kahramankazan district center. In autumn, areas where yellowing leaves meet the water surface create rich compositions in terms of color. It is also possible to climb to high points around the dam to frame the entire lake; for these spots, early morning or before sunset hours offer the best light.

Kurtboğazı Dam was built between 1963 and 1967 and plays a critical role in meeting Ankara's drinking water needs. The main streams feeding the dam are Bahtılı, Kınık, Pazar, and Uzunöz. The maximum water volume is over 92 million cubic meters. Located approximately 47 km from the İvedik treatment facilities, the dam is situated within the administrative borders of Kahramankazan district.
