Beşkonaklar Ethnography Museum is a free museum in Malatya's Saray District, housed in an adobe mansion dating to 1935-40, exhibiting regional clothing, household items, and traditional living arrangements.
Beşkonaklar (Five Mansions) takes its name from five mansions built together. One of them is used today as the Ethnography Museum: a two-story, adobe house with a garden, dating to the years 1935-40. Three rooms, a fireplace room, and a kitchen open onto the rectangular courtyard called 'hayat' on the ground floor. There are six rooms on the upper floor. Ethnographic artifacts belonging to Malatya and its region are exhibited in these rooms.
In the Traditional Malatya House section, spaces such as the main room, daily room, sofa, kitchen, and pantry have been brought to life with sound and light systems. Local clothes, household tools, and daily items are displayed together. There are also stone inscriptions in the garden. Some visitors have drawn attention to the restoration work here, and some comments state that the museum is temporarily closed. It is advisable to confirm with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism or the Malatya Governorship before visiting.
